Basement floor radiant heating systems give the occupants the most comfort compared to other heating systems. This is because heating the basement slab gives an extremely even heating of the living area. The heat in the concrete slab radiates out of it and heats everything in the living space; couches, carpets, pool tables etc. These objects then also radiate heat back into the room. The heating is even and from all sides.
The heat from a radiant floor heating system is concentrated at the floor level. Obviously, feet won't feel cold on tile or vinyl coverings since the floor itself is being heated.
People are also amazed at how quiet the concrete slab radiant floor heating system is. There are no blowers, fans or creaking pipes that are constantly making noise. Only a water pump is used to circulate the fluid through the flexible tubes, which are buried in the concrete slab.
Also, there are no air currents generated like a forced air system has. Occupants will not feel or hear a whoosh of hot air coming out of the registers. And the room will immediately start to cool down once the furnace shuts off at the end of its cycle. A constant and even heat is generated by the radiant floor heating system with no hot and cold cycles.
